Cumulative GWA Formula

Cumulative GWA = (Sum of all (Semester GWA × Units)) ÷ (Total Units Across All Semesters)

This ensures that terms with more units (subjects) are properly weighted in your final average.

Example

Suppose you have:

  • 1st Year, Sem 1: GWA 1.75 (21 units)
  • 1st Year, Sem 2: GWA 1.92 (22 units)
  • 2nd Year, Sem 1: GWA 1.60 (24 units)
  • 2nd Year, Sem 2: GWA 1.80 (23 units)

Calculation:
(1.75×21 + 1.92×22 + 1.60×24 + 1.80×23) ÷ (21+22+24+23)
= (36.75 + 42.24 + 38.40 + 41.40) ÷ 90
= 158.79 ÷ 90 = 1.76

Your cumulative GWA is 1.76.
